“Folkwear” Hand-Spun Alpaca/Wool Art Yarn

I almost never spin my own fiber; because I love purchasing fiber from fellow fiber artists, and it reminds me of these wonderful people as I spin it up. This really unique fiber came from the amazing Amy Francisco, and her mill Jehovah Jireh. The fiber is a blend of Alpaca, wool, and cotton thread lengths that add really special texture and color to the yarn. I spun it as a fat singles, then picked up the red with my ply; a very fine wool boucle with a touch of sparkle. So SOFT!! A bulky thick & thin, it is very light in weight. 62 yds to play with!

Ever in my quest for deep, dark, rich colors in fiber and yarn, I had a ball spinning up these gorgeous deep sapphire/violet kid mohair locks! Interspersed with the locks, I corespun a sensational custom silk/merino blend to compliment these rich colors. For the ply, I added in a deep magenta cashmere/merino cobweb-weight with a very slight touch of sparkle, making this yarn one that will POP in your creation! 45 yards, bulky, but very lightweight.

Ellen Loves Purple #2 – Merino/Silk Handspun Yarn

A lovely spin of one of Zephyr Creek Farm's beautiful batts, created by Ellen Zawada! Hand-dyed colors spun up beautifully into a lofty bulky, yet feather-weight yarn that is perfect for weaving and knitting into unique creations. A beautiful magenta-purple with tiny touches of sparkle... and after swirling the fiber around a core, it was then plied with mulberry silk for a balanced yarn with a bit of both elasticity and drape. 90 yds to play with, and this yarn coordinates with "Ellen Loves Purple #1"!
